Speak Out!
Dear Colleagues,
The SEA Board of Directors passed a motion on Feb. 5, 2007, that will provide a 30 minute period of time at the start of the SEA Board meetings to listen to members. The protocol of this Speak Out is listed below.
1. Requests for speaking slot need to come in email form including the following
a. Name
b. Topic
2. Requests need to be addressed to Regina Redmond at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
3. The deadline for applying for slots is noon on Friday before the monthly SEA Board meeting (see dates below).
4. Members may email their comments to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to be read at the Board meeting by a Board member (time permitting) or made available to read (if time does not permit).
5. All emails must have the topic "SPEAK OUT" in the subject line.
Rules governing the presentation:
1. 3 minutes maximum to speak
2. Discourse will be civil
3. There will be no direct attacks on any individual
4. The purpose of granting this time is to provide the Board of Directors with feedback on issues and connect the SEA more directly with the membership
Note: Procedures for Initial complaints re: SEA advocacy are already in place. They are:
a. Complaints concerning individuals first need to be addressed through the staff person assigned to the building or program
b. Complaints about staff need to be addressed with Steve Pulkkinen
c. Complaints about Steve Pulkkinen need to be addressed to Wendy Kimball
These are the dates for the upcoming Board meetings. They are held at 4:15 at the SEA offices.
